Trolling

This is one of most exciting fishing experiences you can have. Depending on the season you can catch sailfish, white marlin, blue marlin, wahoo, dorado (mahi-mahi), tuna, kingfish and barracuda. Sure to be fun.

Pleasure Cruising

You can see the hotels from the ocean side, stop in beautiful coves for swimming or snorkeling, or visit a small ruin that you can only get to from the water.  The Yucatan happens to have the second longest coral reef in the world.  You must let us know this at the time you make your reservation if you want to snorkel.  (Available on private charters only)

Combination

Interested in doing a little of everything?  Plan your own trip based on the fishing season and how much time you want to spend on the water.  Please let us know if you want to do this at the time of your reservation.  You can usually do two of the activities on a four hour trip and all three on a six or eight hour charter.  (Available on private chaters only)

Shared Fishing

If you don’t have enough people for your own private boat or are looking for an economical alternative, a shared trip might be what you are looking for.  We take a maximum of six anglers per boat.

Fly Fishing

Fly fishing and spin casting in the flats is done one of two places.  We can make arrangements just half an hour south of Tulum in Boca Paila or send you to beautiful Ascension Bay.

Tournaments

Captain Rick’s plays host to several tournaments a year and fishes in several more.  If you want to plan your own tournament or participate in one, just call us to make arrangements.  We can help you set up the rules and scoring.  Great for large groups who want a little competition.

All Sailfish and Marlin are catch and release.   Anything that can be eaten belongs to the person who caught it.  You can take the fish to one of the local restaurants for lunch or dinner or ask in advance at your hotel if they will cook it for you.  What you do not want stays on the boat and is eaten by local families.  Nothing goes to waste.
